About Dr. Farhad Hakimi
First and foremost, I am a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.). My formal title is “Farhad Hakimi, D.M.D., F.A.C.P., Diplomate American Board of Prosthodontics”. It’s a mouthful, so let me explain.
After a series of rigorous exams, I was awarded the title of “Diplomate” among Prosthodontists in America. Later, I also became a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (F.A.C.P.). I’m honored to be part of this highly selective group.
As a Board-Certified Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, my services are more comprehensive than a general Dentist (D.D.S.). In fact, I have two additional years of training in medical science. Beyond General Dentistry, I specialize in Prosthodontics, a fancy word for Restorative Dentistry.
I completed my graduate studies at New York University, College of Dentistry. I taught Dentistry and Prosthodontics at N.Y.U. for sixteen years and began my private practice. Recently, I celebrated my thirtieth anniversary.
I specialize in “Healthy Smile Reconstruction”, part of my mission to create Oral Harmony® for all my patients—even those with severe problems. This includes replacing and restoring natural teeth, and a palette full of modern solutions. The most complex—and artistically-demanding—specialties in the dental arts keep me challenged.
I’m also devoted to studying Sleep Breathing Disorders. In 1998, I patented an anti-Snoring device which also relieves oral effects of stress. The VIAdmd® has been remarkably successful. (Click on “VIAdmd®” to learn more.)
